Spotlight: water tech
Denmark is market-leading when it comes to solving the world’s great water and climate challenges. With innovative technologies attracting international attention, Danish companies are paving the way in the global water industry.
But we need your help!
No life without water
Essential. Reliable. Invaluable. Water is the thread that weaves together our daily lives. It keeps our communities healthy, our cities running, and our economies growing. While essential, water infrastructure is largely invisible to most people. But not to us.
Denmark has the world’s most sustainable and efficient water cycle
In Denmark, we are leaders in developing and implementing water technology. In fact, we have the world’s most sustainable and efficient water cycle — and we want to contribute to a sustainable world with clean water for everyone.
Denmark has a long history of effective water management and 50 years of experience with the green transition. Our cities are liveable, blue, and green cities introducing smart integrated water solutions, climate-resilient neighbourhoods, and harbours clean enough for its city dwellers to swim in.
Danes drink groundwater directly from the tap thanks to efficient wastewater treatment. As a living water laboratory, Denmark has a lot to offer other countries to meet global climate and sustainability goals.
Denmark’s water solutions can catalyse change across the world
The world is facing numerous challenges relating to water distribution, management and recycling:
* 100% of the world's population needs access to drinking water
* 80% of the world’s wastewater remains untreated
* 40% of drinkable water is ”lost” due to poor management
Danish companies developed a lot of solutions to help tackle these challenges.
We can’t solve all the problems in the world, but we can provide and innovate technical solutions, which can catalyse the process.
And we need your help to do it!
Live and work in the most digitally competitive country in the world
A tech-savvy population, extensive digitisation of public services, and enterprises ready and willing to implement new digital technology. These are some of the reasons why Denmark continues to rank as the most digital country in the world.
Combined with sky-high ambitions for our climate and our nature, you'll find an unparalleled willingness to take responsibility and work together towards a more sustainable future.
